Reviews For "Life Songs EP"

Love It!!!

Out of nowhere comes a new LNJ EP entitled "Life Songs" and features Larry Worley (Love Life/Fear Not) on vocals... according to founding member Justin Murr, "This was JK Northrup's idea.", Well someone thank mister Northrup for me. LNJ is one of my all-time favorite bands and Larry is one of my all-time favorite vocalists and he is a friend of mine. LNJ announced that they were no longer a band after the release of "The Vow", so I hope I can contain my excitemnt here. Actually, this is the first of two EPs being released by the band with Larry singing so my giddy level just raised two-fold! Well, this album starts off with "Does Love Have You" and what I really love is LNJ have a distinct sound/style that I recognize right off. Even with all of the special guest vocalists and instruments over the past few years, they have developed their own signiture sound. I have to say, it is so nice to hear Larry's voice as he has not lost anything over the years. This is a great mid-tempo rocker and my favorite. Great song, great vocals and a sweet guitar solo ala JK! Next track is a funky little tune called "Gangster Of Love". Great bass work and Larry working the mic with a little JK mixed in. This is a cool and fun song. I have always enjoyed the fact that LNJ sound like they have fun when recording and it comes out in songs like this. JK can shred!! "My World" is the next track and is another cool straight ahead/mid-rocking tune. The next song is "Only Choice". It's a little slower than the rest of the songs, almost balladic. I like it, Larry can sing anything and it would sound good. That is not to say that this song is just anything. It sounds great and is even a little catchy. "And Again" is the last track and it is another great mid-tempo song. In fact, I don't see myself fast forwarding through any of the songs on here. The album is tight, production is great as always, Larry rocks!!! JK shreds! The album is definitely worth getting and did I mention, Larry Worley is handling the vocals??? Can't wait for the next LNJ album!!!
