"The Year was 1994, and the culmination of a lot of hard work, perseverance, and sheer dedication to their Lord paid off with the release of the first Six Feet Deep full length album on R.E.X. Records. The band had been playing in their local area of Elyria Ohio for some time now and finally had the major label break most bands look for. As it would turn out, major labels would end up breaking this band.
With the release of Struggle, the band found that the underground Christian market was eager to snap them up. There were not that many hardcore bands on the scene at the time, and most listeners were still reeling from the first release by Christian hardcore pioneers Focused entitled Bow. Later that year would see the release of the first Blamed album 21 as well. Still none of these albums captured what Struggle had. From style, to integrity, to production, the Christian hardcore market finally had an album to rival the secular world's music."
