Reviews For "Sonic Divide"

Pretty good.

Sonic Divide is a hard rock outfit from "down under". Their self titled album features 9 rockin' tunes and here are my thoughts on their work. I consider myself a diverse music enthusiast with a very large taste in music. I enjoy everything from classical to death metal and most stuff in-between. Sonic Divide definitely fits in-between. I would classify them as a light to hard rock band. Now, I have been talking to one of the members (very cool dude) and right off, they are not a Christian band, per-say, but every member is a born again Christian and the lyrics do not stray from their beliefs. So, after listening to the album several times, I have to admit... this is very good. The album starts off with a mid rocker called "So In Love". This is a very good song filled with passion and with six members in the band, filled with great music. I love the feel of this song. The next song is entitled "Driven" which sort of reminds me of Tran-Siberian Orchestra. Another great song filled with rich sounds of musical goodness. "I Wonder" is a softer rock tune filled with melody and harmonies. The band uses keys and piano throughout the album but it's not overpowering the songs but sits nicely in the background... I likey. "When The Morning Comes" is a balladic tune which really highlights the harmonies and sounds almost choir-like. I really like this song. The next song, "Too Much", is a faster paced, piano led tune that sort of reminds me of a 90s anthem. These guys are very talented. "Shattered Fortress" has a really cool funk-like beat that makes me want to get up and dance. Very cool song. The next tune is called "Stepping Stone" and it starts off rockin'. Lots of keys but blended in just perfectly. One of my favorites. The next song "The Healing" is a ballad and one of their more popular songs. Vocals are powerful and the guitar sound is pretty cool... Another favorite. The album ends with "Horizon". This is a mid tempo rock tune that also sounds pretty cool. Overall, not a bad song on the album. These guys are very talented and worth checking out. There are a few softer rock songs here but they are really good. This is a great album and I recommend it to any 90s rock anthem lover, and even a pure rocker at heart would enjoy this.
