Released in 1989 on Talking Town Records and distributed by R.E.X. Music, this is the band's debut full-length album.
Originating in the Washington D.C. area initially under the name Second Chance, Armageddon recorded two demo tapes before placing the track "(Liberation From) The Blazing Wasteland" on the East Coast Metal compilation in 1988. Subsequently signing to Talkingtown Records, the band proceeded to permanently change its name to Armageddon before recording its full length Talkingtown debut "The Money Mask" (1989). Moving in a classic heavy metal direction with an occasional thrash influence, The Money Mask is certain to appeal to fans of Judas Priest, Metal Church, Saint and Barren Cross.
Complimenting lead vocalist Mike Vance's gritty mid-octave ranged vocal style, are guitarists Robby Lee, Charlie Phillips and Phil Zeo who lay down a mega-huge rhythm guitar sound in addition to a plethora of fast paced and aggressive lead guitar work.
Dan Wilkinson (Taker) performs steadily on bass, while Mark Miley handles drums on seven tracks and the incredible Joe Hasselvander (of Raven and the legendary Pentagram fame) the other three. On The Money Mask Armageddon proves itself a force to be reckoned with in backing up top notch musicianship with its all out raw energy and aggressive performance.
Disc two is comprised of the pre-Armageddon demo tracks when the band was known as Second Chance.
