I was sitting here listening & thesen2 bands played back to back, Thee Final Chaptre & Riveting Truth. Both of these bands were released in 2016 & 2020 respectively but sound like they came out of the late 80s, early 90s. they have that sound that takes me back to those days. They totally rock it with the older sound in the newer years. love it!! 8X  8X  8X  8X  E|  E|  E|  E|

Concerts / Winter Jam Rocks!!!
March 05, 2025, 07:56:13 AM
So the last 3 years I have gone to Winter Jam to see certain bands. Let me back up. Winter Jam is a music festival that travels across the United States to different cities. It was started by a gospel/contemporary group called Newsong. Definitely not my style of music, but they sing Arise My Love, which is an Resurrection Sunday Favorite. They invite a lot of other groups to tour with them, none of which is rock, hard rock, or metal. 2023 They brought Disciple & they killed it!!! 2024 was Seventh Day Slumber, my favorite all time band!! They killed it!!! 2025 is Skillet, & they sold it out!!!  ;D  ;D  ;D. To say the least, they not only killed it, they brought the best Skillet show I have ever seen live!! Winter Jam is not for us metal heads, but if it comes close to you, go to see these bands. Support Metal music in a contemporary Christian Music world. Side note, I have  never heard of We Are Vessel until this year's Winter Jam, but they totally rock!! E|  E|  8X  8X

What's Playing... / Smashing Alley Underground
March 05, 2025, 07:39:49 AM
I have never heard of Smashing Alley Underground until I heard them here on D2SR. The song was "Make Your Move" from 1995. They are truly an awesome band. I wished I had heard them then< I would have bought the CD. Definitely a band i could get into. Very heavy, very melodic, very, very metal. I honestly don't have words to express what I totally think about this band, except love love love this band.  8X  8X  8X  8X  8X  E|  E|  E|  E|  E|  E|  E|  E|

Upcoming Releases / Stryper "When We Were Kings"
October 05, 2024, 05:16:39 AM
The brand new Stryper CD "When We Were Kings" just dropped. I don't have my copy as of yet, but I am waiting to receive it. Stryper does not disappoint on the newest release. From the sound of Michael Sweet's voice, the surgery did not hold his vocals on the high notes back. He is just as good as ever. Check out this latest release. I think, for all of you who are fans of Stryper, will love it.

Perpetual Legacy "Waiting For You" is definitely a keeper. There's alot of movement in this song. Kinda reminds me of the 80's song by Fire Inc. "Tonight Is What it means to be Young" but heavier. Love the female lead in this. Melodioc & powerful.  8X

I have gotten to know SDS on a personal level. I live in Muscle Shoals, AL & sometimes it's hard to get a tour close enough to see. It's especially exciting to get to see my all-time favorite band Seventh Day Slumber, live. When I do, I'm almost in the front row, & they know when I'm there. There hasn't been any time, with exception of one time near Columbia, TN, I have not gotten to see them. Even went to Winter Jam 2023 in Tupelo, MS to see them. Every time is a new pic, a new autograph, a new shirt, & I have every CD they have released with exception of the first one, Matthew 25. They're real about their faith in God, stands firm on the Word of God, and their sound truly rocks!!! Whenever they're in town at a venue near you, check them out. You will not be disappointed.  E|  8X

Joseph Rojas & Rockfest Records just released a new Christmas album called A Very Merry Rockfest Christmas. It features artist Seventh Day Slumber who does a remake of Kelly Clarkson's "Underneath The Christmas Tree" & an original song Joseph Rojas wrote from a poem he read, "In the Bleak of Winter". Other artist include Matt Sassano "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch", GFM "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays", Amosngst The Giants "O Come All Ye Faithful", The Letter Black "Mary Did You Know", The Protest "Run Rudolph Run", Living Scars "Wonderful Christmastime", Relent doing a remake of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas", & Dawn Michelle of Fireflight "What Christmas Means to Me". This Christmas album totally rocks. It's heavy. Nothing like welcoming in Christmas for the metal head/headbanger like this CD. If you don't have it, check it out at Rockfestrecords.com. Merry Christmas everyone & keep rockin' for the One who is the Rock!!! Jesus is the reason for our season.

I have been following Seventh Day Slumber for a while now. I first met them in Athens Alabama during Soul Stock 2010. It was a rain storm and they had not arrived. The people that hosted the event moved a lot of it indoors. After a while they made the painful decision to cancel the rest of the event because of tornadic weather. seventh Day Slumber did, however, show up & greeted everyone, & even did an acoustic set. Because of that, a guy gave his life to Jesus that day. I have followed SDS every since then. They have not disappointed. They are definitely real for Jesus.
