As a mother's day and early birthday gift my two oldest daughters got tickets for McCartney's concert at the MetLife Stadium here in Jersey on Thursday June 16th. I had been a Beatle fan for years and have eight vinyl albums, so when the girls heard he was playing close by they decided to try to get tickets. I had never been at an outdoor stadium that was so big before and it was packed! You could see the stage from where we were sitting although it looked very tiny, but they had big screens on either side and flying drones so we could see Paul very well! The sound was pretty good as well and he did a nice mix of his songs and Beatle's. He gave moving tributes to George Harrison and John Lennon along with films of the Beatles working on their music and just goofing around. Bruce Springsteen showed up to play some of his tunes with Paul on backup and to sing "Birthday" to him, later on Jon Bon Jovi also showed up to wish Paul a happy birthday! Toward the end of the three hour concert when he was starting his oncore it started to rain, thankfully it was just a short little sprinkle! So all in all it was very exciting! Another interesting fact is Paul is now married to a Jersey girl! He turned 80 on June 19th (only 10 years older than me!)
