"Immeasurably Moore In Taiwan"

Back on April 23 we had the Spring Women's Missionary Conference at our Chapel. In the past it has been held at the Chapel many times before, but this was the first time that I personally had attended. I was asked to help out at the registration table along with my sister-in-law and another friend. I decided it sounded interesting and might be fun to hear what being a missionary is actually like.

We had several speakers that were in person and others that were on Zoom since some were still out in the field. When I heard that one of ours, Stacie, would be on Zoom from Taiwan I was even more thrilled! I had met her over the years at the Chapel and loved her personality! Apparently she had started coming to the Chapel because it was close to her college and was friends with people that were attending the college from the Chapel.

After finishing college she joined a missionary group and went to China ending up in Taiwan where she has been for about twenty years now. She eventually left the group and has been out on her own as a missionary for many years. Over the years she has met other young women who have helped her with her vision of spreading God's Word. She has been teaching English in many schools, some Christian, others not, but has managed to start prayer groups with the children in the schools that have included family members as well.

It hasn't been easy, there have been many ups and downs, but she continues with the help of the Lord! Our church helps with financial support as with other missionaries. I am just so amazed that she started out in her early 20's and has been able to continue all by herself all these years into her early 40's! She sends us prayer requests and updates almost every month under the title "Immeasurably Moore In Taiwan" as a reference to Eph. 3:20 "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or can imagine according to His power that is at work within us." It's kind of sweet that she has picked this verse as her inspiration and her support because her last name is Moore!

She and her roommate are moving into another apartment in another part of Taiwan where they hope to be able to start a prayer and bible meeting. I am just so amazed and proud of her strong trust in the Lord that has carried her all these years! It was so incredible to hear all these women talk about their experiences in the different countries, especially those with husbands and children! I have had enough difficulties raising children in my homeland, can't imagine doing it in a strange land in these frightening times!

We know God is in control, but we need to keep those who have answered the call to go and spread His word to all the world in prayer!
