We had a really nice surprise this Sunday during the Family Bible hour. We start with a song led by an elder, then go through the prayer list and calendar, then we have a few minutes to greet each other, then we sing about three songs before the speaker starts. The first song we sang after the greeting was just released by Poems of Grace "Lay Us Down" which happens to be by a man who grew up in the church. It was presented by video with words on the screen and was really amazing! The group Poems of Grace is a couple, Peter and Grace Assad. Peter grew up in the church with his brother and sister, his father is an elder. Not only is he a great piano player, but a guitarest as well and played in the church bands as a youth, now he is also a fine speaker. A couple of years ago he and his wife started writing songs and were able to find a producer and people to play back ground music. Their music can be found on YouTube, Spotify and Apple music, they even have a wedsite poemsofgrace.com with artwork as well.

Now here's an interesting piece of trivia, Peter is related to the artist Audrey Assad who has done pretty well in Christian music over the years, their fathers are brothers!
