I should be painting, but I decided to visit DTS, because it has been several months since I visited.  Life has been a whirlwind with buying a house and all the fun that goes with that.

Proverbs 4:23 keeps popping up for me.  I prefer the KJV "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."  The ESV:  "Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life."  In my continuing study of the "Old Testament," I purchased THE COMPLETE JEWISH STUDY BIBLE:  INSIGHTS FOR JEWS AND CHRISTIANS.  This verse more correctly translated is "Keep thy heart with the greatest vigilance; for out of it are the issues of life."  At the same time, I also purchased the Jewish Publication Society's Hebrew English TANAKH.  Now that verse reads quite different.  "More than all that you guard, guard your mind, for it is the source of life."    I don't know what to make of this at the moment.  I am going to have to really dig into this and pray about it.  Being a social worker and have always pondered and even had a discussion with someone at work about do feelings influence/lead to thoughts or do thoughts influence/lead to feelings?

In my men's group this verse came up as the presenter was discussing Hebrews 3:10.  The presenter said "You can't change your heart.  God can't change your mind.  You can change your mind and God can change your heart."

I would appreciate anyone's and everyone's thoughts or insights on this matter.  Sometimes I go down some rabbit holes and can't find my way out.  Throw me a rope anyone? :o

Thanks,

David

Yeah, I love rabbit holes too but like you said, sometimes you cannot find the exit.
We need to hear the Gospel every day, because we forget it every day.

I can see how you can get in that rabbit hole, I've been reading through Proverbs myself and sometimes what is being said is confusing, but reading through it again sometimes sheds some light. I understand that we can't change our hearts, but I see that changing ones mind to follow God will let Him change our hearts.   <3  <3
