Released in 2019, this is a project between guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Johnson (Sacred Warrior, Deny The Fallen) and guitarist Tiago James de Souza (Hand Of Fire, Perpetual Paranoia).
Hypostatic Union is the union of both the divine and human nature in a single person. This being completed in the person of Christ but also in part in believers in Christ. Christ in us, us in him, him in God. Christ in us the hope of glory. That we are partakers of the divine nature. This is the great mystery.
"I felt it perfectly represented where I was going lyrically on this album. Sometimes we forget "Who we are", because we forget "Who's we are". Our identity has to be "in Christ". That's a main theme of this album.
There is a real magic chemistry with me and Tiago playing together. As soon as we started writing, that became obvious. God was in it from the first moment. There is a real power in this album, not just musically but I believe the Holy Spirit's inspiration is everywhere on it and for that I'm extremely thankful.
We took some huge risks making this. Especially me vocally. I pushed myself far outside my comfort zone and experimented with sounds and styles that we're new to me. I didn't want it to sound like anything either of us had ever done before, and I think we accomplished that.

Since getting involved in online radio broadcasting back in 2004, I have made numerous friends with people inside and outside of the music industry. Many have become close friends and yet, we have never met. Two amazing people and very talented musicians that I have had the privilege and honor of getting to know and become close friends with are Jonathan Johnson (Zeal, Sacred Warrior, Deny The Fallen) and Tiago James de Souza (Hand Of Fire, Perpetual Paranoia). I love these guys and am big fans of their music. Well, the two have gotten together and have collaborated on a project called "Godman". They have released their debut album titled Hypostatic Union. The album features nine songs of impetuous, formidable, no filler, all thriller head bangage. It's heavy and furious, filled with killer hooks and powerful, yet heartfelt vocals, and the musicianship is tight and precise. They released the singles "Reset", "Last Man Standing", "Illuminati", and "Dark Night Of The Soul" prior to releasing the album in July of 2019.
My favorite songs are "Dark Night Of The Soul", which deals with some issues many people face daily such as depression, OCD, ADD, etc.. It's the slowest song on the album and according to Jonathan, contains a message that needs to be heard. I also really like "Effigy", "Who I Am", "The Rescue", "Babylon", pfft... OK, I actually really like them all!
Overall, this is a killer album. The songs are all amazing and the artwork is sick! Please do yourself and the band a favor and buy this album. It won't disappoint!
