According to Colvin, Metal Blade Records signed the band after they had broken up. Metal Blade Records actually took the band's demos, mastered them and released them as The Awful Truth's debut album.

This is a fantastic album full of grinding 8-string bass and vocal harmonies! Very creative and catchy music on this disc complete with Monty Colvin and Alan Doss of soon to be Galactic Cowboys fame. Even though this is a "demo" recording, it sounds killer! A rare underground gem full of ear candy.
