Main Line Riders returned in 2009 with their second full length recording since the debut in 2007. This time around the band tunes in with a new attitude, a new vocalist and a new sound. With the electrifying opening notes of "It all Ends Tonite," you'll think that Bon Scott surely must have been resurrected and is now singing for Cliffy and his Main Line Riders. Unashamedly, "Worldshaker" is earnestly beholden to hard rock godfathers (Bon-era) AC/DC. The first three cuts, along with "Rhythm-N-Blues" could easily have been some lost AC/DC tracks! The album has everything classic rock requires. There are songs about rock-n-roll, slow sleazy blues, high-voltage boogie and the MONSTER RIFFS of Cliffy! So big and bold are these riffs that they bruise the listener upon contact! It's those catchy, infectious riffs -- that make your spine tingle and give the music its backbone! Worldshaker definitely delivers some "high voltage" by a band that steals from all the right places, rocks non-ironically -- even epically at times -- and sounds great blasting out of a car or on headphones!

Reviews For "Worldshaker"

Nice bluesy rock
by tombie on 11/15/2009

Retroactive Records has quickly become my favorite record label by miles, not only have they remastered and released some timeless classics but they have signed some amazing bands like Liberty N' Justice, Faith Factor, Saint, Jacobs Dream and Bride, to name a few.Another gem to add to the list is Main Line Riders; this Delaware based band delivers raw gritty bluesy rock the way it was meant to be. Twelve tracks of in your face rock and roll baby! Now Main Line Riders are looking for a few musicians but they received a little help from their friends in Grave Robber to bring us a little AC/DC style rock on this release. So lets get this thing rollin', Track one is entitled "It All Ends Tonight" and starts the album off with both barrells blazin'! This is a great song and really showcases the bands ac/dc style influences. Track two is "Throwin' Bones to the Wolves", starting off where the first track left off. If this keeps up, it is going to be tough to live up to this album. They may have to get Angus and Brian to fill in to come close. Track three is called "Hell Ain't a Good Place to Be" which is definitely a good punch at AC/DC's "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be". Who do you think the winner of that one is? "Through With You" is the next track and they are not letting up on their full audio assault. This song may be one of my favorites.Next track is "Coming Home"; this is more of a ballad and with the gritty vocals and bluesy vibe, this made for a very good song. The next track, "Broken Hearted" jumps right back into your face with pounding guitars and vocals, the way rock should be.
The title track, "Worldshaker" is the next track and rightly so. This is another rocker and another one of my favorites.Track eight is called "Power Surge" and it gets the toes tapping and the head bangin'. Great song!"Chrome & Steel" is the next track and this song moves away a little from the AC/DC sound. I really like this song, great sound and probably my favorite on the album.Track ten is called "Rhythm-N-Blues. This is not a bad song but probably my least favorite."We Are the Ready Ones" is track eleven and it rocks! Another great song with a good drive. The final track is "It's a Revolution". This song ends the album just the way it started, smokin'! This is a great album and sets the bar for the band as far as filling in the missing members. Top notch recording and excellent song mix, this album is a great showcase for Retroactive. If you are fans of AC/DC and X-Sinner, then get ready to be pleasently blown away by "Worldshaker"! I think it has found a nice home here on my iPod.
