Released in 2009, this 16 track album was produced and recorded by three-time Dove award winner Ken Tamplin of Shout and Magdallan. "Born To Be Wild is a smorgasbord of fabulously recorded songs from the 60's and 70's with the brilliant sense of humor Darrell has been know for. Songs such as ZZ Top's "Tush" (now "Just Lookin' For A Church") and the ever famous "Low Rider" (now "Backslider"). This is a compilation of music that only a seasoned veteran like Darrell could deliver, and he does so with virtuosity and authority. Darrell Mansfield was accompanied by world-renowned musicians such as; Drummer Jimmy Paxson (currently the drummer for Stevie Nicks and Alanis Morrisette), keyboardist Eduardo Roth (keyboardist for Jessica Simpson and Maya), Bass Player Howard Branch (Sting, Elton John and Robbie Williams). Darrell's music has touched audiences for over 3 decades. His story of recovery and victory over some of life's greatest challenges is an inspiration and testimony to us all. Darrell plays a mean harmonica, and as usual, delivers the goods with his trademark vocals on this dynamic, hard driving set!

Darrell Mansfield has been playing classic rock and blues for thirty plus years. He has recently been inducted into the blues hall of fame. From the very first note plucked on this cd you will understand why, THIS IS ONE GREAT MUSICIAN AND MAN OF GOD. On this cd Darrell covers classic rock and blues songs from legendary classic rockers like ZZ Top, Stephen Wolf, and Golden Earring and many more. He has changed the lyrics over to christian which I think is awesome because I used to listen to a lot of classic rock and after being born again I have forsaken the world and classic rock. So this is a blessing to be able to listen to some of the great classics with out the worldly lyrics. If you love, and miss all the classic rock and blues of the 70's this cd is a must. Darrel is currently working on a hard rock album. Something he said he has been wanting to do for years.
