Memento EP

Released in 2009 by Maanalainen Levykauppa, this is the band's debut EP.
According to the band, "A thought about making an album had been in our minds for a long time. After several demo productions, we finally managed to arrange us some studio time. First we were about to make a full length piece, but then we decided to Offer listeners only the tightest pieces we had and recorded a bit over a quarter-hour EP. We asked Juho Räihä to help us, because we knew he had the talent and attitude to engineer this kind of music. We had a relaxed 5-day session in the legendary "Rulla", Heinola at December 2008.
The album-opening didgeridoo tunes, played by Kalie, lead you to the origin of the two first songs. Desert is about being lost in a mental desert and the process of finding your path back home. The idea of Roadkill comes from the brutal views of Australian highways where Kaile was traveling in 2006. There he realized how one's life would end if there was no destination. Written by Kalie and arranged by Tuukka, these two gongs identify our root sound.
Third song, written by Tuukka and Kalie, Memento Mori brings forth the new "In Process" sound, laden with more melodic guitars and richer percussions. Driven by Maurice Rawlings book "Beyond Death's Door", Kalie wrote lyrics that urge one to ponder what happens in one's life, and especially at the end of it. The last chapter of the EP, Memento Vivere, deepens the idea of Memento Mori by adding another aspect. While the song came to Tuukka unexpectedly, it was not originally intended to be an In Process song until much later, then Kalle heard the demo and liked it; the song was re-arranged and Kaile finished it with his lyrics. Memento Vivere reminds us of the value of life, and how we can not impact our own coming to existence. Remember that you die, but remember to esteem the brilliance of the world around you, now that you have the chance. The idea of a laid-back intro-track to Memento Vivere came later on during random jamming sessions. At the studio, Teemu promptly arranged the prelude and improvised the bass-line, giving the last finishing touch to the EP. "
