Arson was a Christian Alternative Metal / Rapcore band from Cologne, Germany that was active between 1999 and 2011 throughout Europe.
Arson was founded in 1999 by Arne Clemm, Benjamin Schlanzke, Jürgen Schneider, and Manuel Weber. Their first appearance was in June 2000 at the PfiJuKo Bergneustadt in front of about 1,800 visitors. Just two weeks later, the band won first place at a local newcomer contest. Then Arson decided to send their self-titled demo also to major festivals and was able to perform in October 2,000 at the Expo in Hannover and then in December at the Christmas Rock Night with about 1,500 visitors.
In June 2002 Arson released their first album, New World. In 2002, the album received the International Album Of The Year award at the CCM Awards. The band itself received the award for Newcomer of the Year international. In 2003 Arson had their first international appearances in the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Italy. In August 2004, Jürgen Schneider left the band to take care of his family.
Only a short time later, Thomas Süßenbach joined as frontman and singer. In March 2005, Arson began recording the album "Brokeness Brings Forth Unknown Beauty", which was released on October 10. At the end of 2006 Arne Clemm left the band. Since then, Arson appeared as a three-piece band. Benjamin Schlanzke played the bass during this time, until the end of 2008. Ruben Seinsche then joined as bassist.
In the summer of 2011, the band announced on their website that it will dissolve.
