Chyld was a foursome that consisted of some of the finest and most respected players on the east coast. Formed in December of 1993 by Stephen Hayman (Hamie) and Michael Hough, Chyld had already created quite a buzz.
Lead singer Hamie had gold record success with his former band, Polygram recording artist "Heavy Pettin". Heavy Pettin' quickly zoomed to the top of the charts with their debut album, "Lettin' Loose" produced by Brian May of Queen. Gold record success continued with follow up albums "Rock Ain't Dead" and "The Big Bang". Having the good fortune to work with some of the industry's finest, such as, Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, KISS, Motley Crue, AC/DC and Metallica, it's no surprise why they became one of Europe's favorite bands. Voted "Best Singer" by Kerrang magazine, Hamie has excited audiences all over the world! From America to Japan, from small clubs to "The Monsters Of Rock" festivals he has rocked them all with his powerful and unique vocals. Guitarist Michael Hough has been called one of the "smoothest of the smooth". Voted "Best Guitarist" in the region, Michael is considered one of the most talented and respected in the business. A highly sought after songwriter and studio musician, Michael has worked with such artist as Dann and David Huff of A&M Records "Giant" and Benson Music recording artist "Age Of Faith". The former lead guitarist for one of America's finest bands, "The Creek", Michael recruited the talents of former Creek band-mates bassist Robbie Hegler and drummer John Harwell. their work was introduced to the European market through a compilation album release by Music For Nations and a follow up "Storm The Gate" released on Intercord Records. Both releases spent several weeks as one of the Top 10 Imports and were favorites of Kerrang and Metal Forces magazines. Along with their European successes, they experienced continued success in their American homeland with appearances on TV's Star Search as well as their sell out concerts.
Put together with the strong songwriting of Hamie and Michael, Chyld definitely had a very unique and exciting sound. Chyld created music that got people excited and made them feel good! Heavy rock with great hooks and melodies and "incredible" vocals from all four members. Their love for the music and for bringing it all to the people came across in each and every performance. This quartet of professionals had brought the "live" concert into a new age with their special brand of heavy rock.
