Crimson VERA
Country: United States of America
Genre: Alternative Rock
Crimson VERA started off as a three piece progressive rock group from South Florida. They formed in November of 2004 and had been steadily writing music since then. The forming of this band was no coincidence. Each member was involved in other local bands in the years prior to the birth of Crimson VERA. Dave was the lead guitarist for the rock band SALiNE, Josh was the bassist for the hardcore band Life Without Shame, and Tony was the drummer for the punk band Assembly Required. Not surprisingly, these three bands played several shows with each other over the years and great friendships between all of the band members were made. Although each of them were highly dedicated to their own band, time would prove that God had a different plan for these three musicians.
Upon the breakup of SALiNE, Dave knew that he was not ready to put down his guitars. He knew that there was something greater in store. At the same time, Josh and Tony were experiencing much of the same feelings. Soon afterwards, their bands also took turns towards dissolution. The door for Crimson VERA was beginning to open...
Dave pitched the idea of this new progressive style band to Josh and Tony and before long the three of them were writing music together. After a few months and about six name changes, the trio decided on Crimson VERA. Things progressed very rapidly for this South Florida band. They played their first show on the 20th of March when they opened for the X 2005 Tour featuring Falling Up, KJ-52, and Hawk Nelson.
Having had the opportunity to open for nationally known Christian bands on their first show had certainly set a fire in this band's heart. They knew that God had brought them together for the sole purpose of bringing the message of Christ to all that would listen. And it was for this one reason that they did what they did.
They later added vocalist Josh Link and second guitarist Clay Gasboarro. They released their self-titled album in 2007.
