Darrell Mansfield's soulful voice and harmonica have amazed and inspired audiences worldwide for over 30 years. A renown musician and songwriter, he has released more than 30 albums and is recognized as one of the world's greatest harmonica players.
Darrell got his musical start in 1974, releasing his first album Gentle Faith in 1976. In 1977, Mansfield formed the Darrell Mansfield Band. Over the years Darrell has recorded and toured heavily in the US and Europe as well as the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
Darrell has released many critically acclaimed albums and has contributed vocals and harmonica to many other artists' recordings including Eddie Van Halen, Jon Bon Jovi, Adam Again and Loverboy. He has also played alongside Jimmy Hall, the late Joe Turner, Richie Sambora, Billy Idol, Ted Nugent, Five Blind Boys, Earl Slick, Rick Derringer and Billy Sheehan.
Mansfield was inducted into the Hohner Harmonica Hall of Fame in 1980 and is the "Ambassador to California" for the Blues Hall of Fame.
Darrell's powerful music was forged in him through personal ordeal, prevailing faith in God and a deep desire to communicate HOPE and LIFE to people around the world through the impact of his music.
Mansfield is a vocal advocate for those facing mental health issues. Having struggled with depression throughout his life as a result of a chemical imbalance, Mansfield attempted suicide on numerous occasions, first in 1971, and later spent two years at Atascadero State Hospital in central California. He now incorporates the discussion of mental health in his music ministry.
Darrell excels in every genre from delta blues to hard rock and southern rock, and has been a forerunner in gospel blues and Christian rock for over three decades.
