Decayed Existence

Country: United States of America
Genre: Death Metal

Decayed Existence is an old school death metal band from Redding California. The band was formed in 1991 by the drummer Harry Rocco. As teens they were influenced by bands like Sepultura and Kreator, but none inspired them more than Death and Chuck Shuldinder.
The band recorded their first three track demo in 1992 called "The Ancient Ones" at Herrieds music in Shasta county. Shortly before finishing the demo the studio burned down with all of their hard work in flames. They took a hard hit, but that made them work even harder. In the next year they wrote six new songs that they recorded at Mikes music and sound in Redding California. They called it "Existence To Decay". Through the early 90's, Decayed Existence was the heart of Shasta county's metal scene. They produced a network for all local bands and musicians, playing many epic local shows and growing support of the Nor-Cal metal scene. By 1995 they lost their lead player Rob Loephler; Harry decided to put music on hold for a while, and in the next year he became a Christian which really inspired him. His new goal became to spread the word of God, and still stay loyal to their brutal death metal sound. In turn, it made it harder, and took longer to find talented members who wanted to support the same message. So in 1997 they recorded a nine track album called "In due time". It was his first Christian release ever. By 1998 they were full speed ahead with a follow up recording "Violent By Design". All members moving separate ways, starting families and going on to other various projects.
With new inspiration, Harry Rocco decided to move back to Shasta County to reform Decayed Existence in 2004 and recorded a six track album titled "Age Of Intolerance". Followed by "Poetry Of The Dead" in 2005; which was a three track EP recorded by Silvia Massey in Weed, California. They steadily recorded albums "Unleash The Plagues"(2007), "Depopulation" (2010), "Rot Box"(2011), also 2 EP's "Slave State"(2012), and "Maranatha" (2013), "Deathless" (2014), "The Blessed Graves" (2015), and both "Funeral" and "Eulogy" (2016).
The band signed to Rottweiler Records in 2018 and released Eulogy.
