Dreamer
Country: Canada
Genre: Hard Rock/Heavy Metal
Dreamer was formed in 1989 by members of Queensway Cathedral youth group, Neil Charter, Bill Davidson, Daniel McAfee, and Troy Cole. Dreamer cut a 3 song demo with Troy Cole singing lead vocals on one of the tracks, in the hopes of using it to secure a full time singer and a producer. Through friends who were in a band named Narnia, who were friends with the Daniel Band, they were introduced to Dan McCabe and approached him to produce them. Dan McCabe loved the material and they hit it off right away. Dan asked if they had a vocalist in mind, and when they said no, he asked if they would be interested in him joining Dreamer. Shortly after that Dreamer recorded a 4 song demo with Dan McCabe at Cherry Beach Studios in Toronto. By early 1990 they were touring and playing around and entertaining various record deals including Pakaderm and Image Records. They signed with Image in 1990 and their debut release came out in early 1991. They toured, opening for such bands as Guardian and Whitecross and played festivals like Kingdom Bound for close to two years. When everyone in the band started getting married it became evident that Dreamer would not continue on beyond one album. There are some unreleased pre-production material that was to be on the second album that hopefully one day will see the light of day. Bill Davidson went on to play for Toni Rossi band and Daniel band. Troy Cole (aka Troi Cole) went on to produce Canadian Christian band Forevertree's debut CD "Turning".
