Fighting Instinct was a three-piece American rock band hailing from North Carolina. This now defunct rock band blended the attitude of the south with the aggression and angst of grunge. The result? A brooding but friendly sound, heavy enough to receive the attention of a rock listener, but accessible enough to enjoy radio play. Fighting Instinct formed in 2006, consisting of: TJ Harris (vocals, guitar), Jason Weekly (bass), Derek Drye (lead guitar), and Chris Burrow (drums). The band was somewhat short-lived, as Fighting only released one LP, and disbanded in late 2006. Lead singer TJ Harris later moved on to front the Rock band Decyfer Down.
