Kalamity Kills

Kalamity Kills is a hard rock band from East Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2022 by vocalist Jamie Rowe and guitarist/producer Jamey Perrenot. Rowe, a veteran performer with decades of experience, is best known as the frontman of the Christian rock band Guardian, which was one of the most prominent melodic hard rock acts in the 1990s. His career spans collaborations with AdrianGale, Tempest, London Calling, and numerous Christian rock and gospel projects Heaven's Metal Magazine. Perrenot, whose credits include serving as Taylor Swift's bandleader and touring with LeAnn Rimes, brings deep production expertise from his East Nashville studio.
The band began as a solo project for Rowe, but evolved into a full band when Rowe and Perrenot decided to make it a 50/50 collaboration, with Perrenot contributing heavily to the sound and even funding parts of the production. Their self-titled debut album, released in September 2023, was fan-funded via Kickstarter and blends hard rock, metal, pop, and electronic elements, featuring guest musicians such as Ray Luzier (Korn), Kiarely Castillo (Conquer Divide), Ace Von Johnson (L.A. Guns), Greg Upchurch (3 Doors Down), Luke Easter (Tourniquet), and Tony Palacios (Guardian).
Kalamity Kills' music has earned national airplay on SiriusXM's Octane, charted on Billboard's Active Rock charts, and has been recognized for its crossover appeal without chasing trends. The band expanded its live lineup in 2025 to include Julia Lauren Bullock (bass/vocals) and Rob Bodley (drums), solidifying its transition from a studio project to a full-fledged live act. Their singles, such as Starry Skies (988) and These Days Are Evil, have tackled themes of faith, failure, hypocrisy, redemption, and the struggles of the modern age.
Kalamity Kills has also secured endorsements from brands like Ernie Ball Music Man, Mesa Boogie, Truetone, Lakland Basses, and Fir Audio, signaling their growing influence in the modern hard rock scene. The band's sound fuses the swagger of classic hard rock with the intensity of modern metal, appealing to both longtime rock fans and new audiences.
