Painted Soul

Country: United States of America
Genre: Alternative Metal

Painted Soul (REV 1:5) was a very unique, heavy, yet melodic hardcore/metal band originating from the bowels of Washington. They were defined by their beat-driven, riff-laden songs that have been described as both "molten metal" and "mainstream hardcore". In their individual pursuits of obtaining a completely original blend of sounds that fit together as pieces to a puzzle, the music became something new. They became well known in the Tacoma, as well as Seattle, music scene and were known for their energy and chemistry on-stage.
Guitarist Josh Tallent, bassist Anthony Morris, and turn-tablist DJ Reborn emerged from a former rap-core project to obtain Sean Brown on drums in early 2004. From there, the band evolved from a nu-metal ensemble with former vocalist Russ Osterfeld, to their final line-up, including vocalist Dann Sample, who was coincidentally in attendance at the first Painted Soul performance in a small basement in Aberdeen, WA. Approaching the first year as a cohesive unit, Painted Soul had taken the scene by storm, opening for such major label acts as Becoming The Archetype, Emery, Stutterfly, Project 86 and more. They received airplay on various Seattle radio stations, such as KISW 99.9FM and Funky Monkey KFNK 104.9FM. Their song "Bloody Hands" was featured as the "4:20 Hit of the Day" on the Raizin & Kennedy Show on KFNK. The band toured the northwest regularly and built a fanbase of new friends and family.
