Ultimatum was formed in 1992 by Guitarist Robert Gutierrez. Vocalist Scott Waters joined forces with him later that same year. In 1993 the band released their first demo "Fatal Delay" on cassette.
1997 saw the release of Ultimatums first full length album "Symphonic Extremities".
In 1998 "Puppet Of Destruction" was released by Rowe Productions. The single from the album, "Never", reached #7 on the Pure Rock charts.
"The Mechanics Of Perilous Times" was released by the band in 2000, then later it was picked up by Gutter records.
In 2002, Rob Whitlock took over Bass guitar duties.
The E.P. "'Til The End" was released in 2005, on Roxx Records.
2007 saw Ultimatum being signed by Retroactive Records and releasing "Into The Pit". Retroactive also re-released "Symphonic Extremities" and "The Mechanics Of Perilous Times" remastered with bonus tracks in 2007. Also, former Moshketeers drummer, Alan Tuma took over on the skins.
With 2009 came the release of "Lex Metalis", an album of cover songs, on Retroactive Records. And the re-release of " Puppet Of Destruction w/ Fatal Delay" by Roxx Records.
March of 2010 We welcomed Our newest Member Fabian Aguilar taking the second Guitar Slot that had been vacant for over 4 years.
Over the years Ultimatum has played many gigs and festivals in California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas and Illinois as well as being a mainstay on the club circuit in their home state of New Mexico.
The band's name is taken from concept of the ultimatum given by Joshua in Joshua 24:15 which states, "But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve."
