"On September 1, 1997, my wife was involved in a tragic accident in which she was completely run over by a truck while jogging in Vancouver, Washington. Through the accident, she received severe back, neck, knee, and internal bleeding injuries. Because of the God we serve, she was spared and through the next 90 days, our lives were dramatically changed. God spoke to us about passion, freedom, grace, life, and strength. He mentored us and caused us to question who we were and where we were headed. We fell in love with God, life, and each other all over again. Through the transformation, we felt led to return to our hometown of Santa Cruz, California and start a subculture music label centered around the surf, skate, and snowboard communities. Shortly after, the label took on the moniker as Bettie Rocket. A representation of a passionate, in-your-face, fictitious girl, in defense of freedom, truth, and God.
