The DaySpring label was established in 1975 as a subsidiary of Word Records. In 1977 The Imperials released their first recording on the label. Other Christian acts that recorded on the label included The Sharrett Brothers (Sharretts), The Gaither Vocal Band and Dion. In the early nineties, Christian rockers Petra released 4 recordings under the label. They closed in 1995.
