Miracle Mile is the third album of Christian rock band Guardian. It was recorded at the end of 1992 and released in 1993. The album was produced by the Elefante brothers, who were also producing albums for legendary Christian band Petra.
This is considered the band's most successful album to date.
"Miracle Mile was a fun record to make. We had just had some success with Fire and Love and our label trusted enough to let us stretch a bit more musically. They even let me design the album artwork. I had always been fascinated by turn of the century carnivals and medicine shows and always thought it was very rock & roll. I actually had a Mac computer with us in the studio and would chip away at artwork ideas while we tracked. When we started throwing around song ideas for the record, it was actually very easy for us to fit our writing within the concept. We were having fun and and it all came together pretty quickly. We had a blast in the studio with John and Dino. There was always some running prank or joke going on. They may have actually trusted us too much, as one of my favorite memories of making this record is that whenever were ready to print a final mix, I would slip in the control room and quickly turn a knob or two to add just a bit more clank to my bass. True story. Much more bass clank on this record than Fire and Love. You can hear it. Dino used to call me The Motorboat because I ground my strings into the pickups so much. It drove the engineers nuts but I always loved that dirtier sound. This was the last record we made at Pakaderm Studios. There was a great burger joint on the corner called Volcano Burger. I think a lot of our recording budget got spent there." - David Bach
