Buzz is one of the albums from Christian rock band Guardian. The album was released in October 1995 and was produced by Steve Taylor. The album takes the band into the realms of alternative music and grunge common of the 90s.
Guardian opened for Taylor in a tour which prompted them to ask him to produce their next album. Taylor was hesitant to do so at first, but then agreed as he became friends of the band.
When Guardian embarked to record Buzz, it was a departure on many levels. The group had decided that a change was needed from their previous producers and label owners, John and Dino Elefante. The band had collectively decided that they would fare better, both creatively and financially, on a new label. When Myrrh Records stepped up to both sign the band as well as support their next world tour, the band made fast friends with tour mate and successful producer Steve Taylor and enlisted him to be their new producer. The resultant album had a slimmed downed and more muscular sound due to Taylor's insistence on live performance in the studio and minimal overdubbing. This work remains one of Guardian's best and also featured four different album covers as Myrrh gave the band free rein to pursue their creative instincts.
