Echocast

Country: United States of America
Genre: Alternative Rock

Siblings Adam Redding and David Mast contributed guitar and vocals, respectively, but the band encountered difficulties when it came to finding and keeping decent drummers or bass players. As Redline, the brothers went on to put together an album titled Supernova, which was issued in 2000 by Freedom Records. For the release, guitarist Redding also took over duties on the bass. Soon he and Mast invited drummer Jaren Johnston and bassist Sean Clark to join them in the lineup that would become Echocast. Clark previously played guitar for a group named Valid. Confident in their new lineup, Redding and Mast led the group on a tour of North America. The tour helped spawn seven singles from Supernova and two television appearances. Echocast's first release, Where the Future Ends, was issued by XS Records and produced by Butch Vig, who previously worked with such bands as Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and Garbage.
